GROW WITH CONFIDENCE
Simple guidance for healthy carnivorous plants in Cyprus.
Use rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water. Tap water can contain minerals that slowly damage sensitive carnivorous plants.
Most species need strong light. Venus flytraps and Sarracenia prefer several hours of direct sun; tropical species may prefer bright filtered light.
Never use ordinary potting soil or fertilizer. Use an appropriate nutrient-poor carnivorous-plant substrate.
Temperate plants such as Venus flytraps and Sarracenia need a winter rest. Tropical Nepenthes do not follow the same dormancy cycle.
Do not force-feed or fertilize the traps. Healthy plants normally catch what they need naturally.
Exact care depends on the species or hybrid. Contact us before purchase and we will help you choose the right plant.
